This 2002 BMW M Coupe is one of just 16 produced for the North American market finished in Laguna Seca Blue over matching Laguna Seca Blue and black Nappa leather and powered by a 3.2-liter S54 inline-six paired with a five-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes a limited-slip differential, a sunroof, and air conditioning, while modifications included a Magnum exhaust, tinted windows, HID headlights, and two-piece 19″ BBS forged wheels. The car was first registered in Texas and later spent time in Nevada, and it now has under 33k miles. This E36/8 M coupe is now offered on consignment by the selling dealer in Oregon with factory literature, an accident-free Carfax report, and a clean Oregon title.
The M Coupe was distinguished from a standard Z3 by front fender vents, wider rear fenders, and a revised front bumper cover. This example is finished in Laguna Seca Blue (448), and features include a sunroof, tinted windows, and HID headlights. The selling dealer reports that the right-side door shows evidence of paintwork, and photos showing paint meter readings are provided in the gallery below.
Staggered-width 19” BBS RS-GT two-piece wheels feature forged gray-finished centers as well as polished lips and wear Goodyear Eagle F1 tires measuring 255/35 up front and 265/30 out back.
The cabin features heated and power-adjustable sport seats upholstered in Laguna Seca blue and black Nappa leather, along with a matching dashboard, center console, door panels, and black carpets lined with M-branded floor mats. Amenities include cruise control, a CD stereo, and air conditioning. The rear-view mirror is in need of repair, and peeling is visible on the center console ahead of the shifter.
The black leather-wrapped M-branded steering wheel with blue accents frames a 170-mph speedometer and 9k-rpm tachometer, along with gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. Auxiliary VDO gauges are mounted in the center console, and the digital odometer shows just under 33k miles, a handful of which were added by the selling dealer.
The 3.2-liter S54 inline-six was factory-rated at 315 horsepower with 251 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels through a ZF five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.
A Magnum exhaust by Supersprint has been fitted, and additional underside photos are available in the gallery below.
The July 2020 Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in Texas and Nevada through the most recent entry in July 2017. At least one open recall is shown.
