Sure you could buy a current F80 M3 for about $30K more - more power but 500# more weight too - you'll see way more boy racer M3s on the highway but with this car, your friends will say "Never saw a BMW like that - WOW !!! " Best of all, there is a solid record of increasing value every year instead of the usual depreciation when you buy a current common M car http://www.mcoupebuyersguide.com/trends-price
Late August, many BMW owners will be showing their special cars at the Legends of the Autobahn and Festorics in Monterey - this special car would be more than welcome and potential prize winner.
Okay, details on this car - a garage queen from Southern California (2nd owner) who didn't drive it much. He had professional installation of HID/halo headlights (you can't go fast at night if you can't see far at night). He also had 3M clear bra and deep cycle battery installed. The BMW emblems were also changed from blue/white to black/gray/white. Randy Forbes rear strut reinforcement plates along with Koni shocks installed. Radio Blaupunkt Business CD43 with stock Harmon Kardon amplifier/speakers with external Ipod jack. (Correction - not Randy Forbes but Rogue Engineering Rear Shock Mounts)
It is the rare steel gray metallic paint with Imola Red and Black Nappa leather upholstery. Best of all, it is a "sunroof delete" which if your height is over about 5'10, makes the space much more comfortable and gives the exterior a more stylish look and avoids sunroof problems. Tires are Michelin Pilot Sport A/S with minimal wear (shows ~0.190-0.210" depth in the middle of the tires). The upholstery is beautiful with strong bolsters and no apparent wear.
The only time this car went to the track was to watch other cars. Most of its days were spent resting covered in the garage (why subject it to stop & go commute traffic or rainy days?) Recent maintenance this month included the 30K service II, power steering hose replacement and full detail. Newly reregistered with clean smog test.
