I'm selling my 1999 M Coupe with about 97,400 miles. I used this car for fun but want the garage space for other cars; this car deserves to be garaged. Now it's time to let someone else enjoy. And what makes this car turn heads are the BBS rims. And then the immaculate Imola Red/Black leather interior only adds to the wow factor. I get comments every time I drive it.
The original BMW M Coupe is a high-performance automobile produced by BMW as an answer to the Porsche Carrera. Sold for four short years from late 1998 to 2002, only 2180 M Coupes were sold in North America. Only two generations of the M Coupe have been manufactured, this one being the original E36/8 M Coupe. This 1999 M Coupe has the BMW's S52 3.2 liter inline six cylinder engine (similar engine as the North American E36 M3) with 240 HP and 236 ft-lbs of torque. That is enough low end power to do what ever I wanted!
This car was great to start with but a previous owner had a Ground Control suspension professionally installed. The agility of the car at normal speeds (<95 mph) is amazing with no give on the corners.
As I said, the interior is stunning with no significant blemishes. The exterior paint is Arctic Sliver and in very good condition for 97,400 miles. The 3M clear bra has protected the forward part of the hood and the 3M clear bra is also on the rear fender leading edge. This has prevented most chips from road debris. The driver's side rear fender was backed into something and I've fixed it with matched paint as shown in the before and after pictures. I'm sick this happened, but it is what it is.
As a result of their relative rarity, the M Coupes retain more of their value than any other BMW since the E30 M3. In short, this S52 engine 240 HP M Coupe is a minor automotive miracle: It's extremely rare, stunningly unique, immensely capable, and (yes) a supremely satisfying sports coupe. I based the price off of what other M Coupes have and are selling for. See www.mcoupebuyersguide.com/listings I took $1000 off what I was going to ask for the car based on the rear bumper damage - the entire bumper could be removed and repainted but the area is so small I didn't.
This is a great car which will be enjoyed and admired.
