Seller Description

Doug's Take

The BMW Z3 M Coupe is an exciting sports car, as it boasts lovable, quirky styling that also provides surprising practicality from its hatchback design. This particular M Coupe touts a 5-speed manual transmission and some great factory equipment – including 17-inch Style 40 wheels, a limited-slip differential, and a Harman/Kardon sound system. It also comes with no major modifications and a clean, accident-free Carfax report showing mostly warm-climate California ownership since new, which are nice benefits that further enhance this M Coupe's appeal.

Highlights

THIS... is a 1999 BMW Z3 M Coupe, finished in Cosmos Black Metallic with a black interior.

  • This M Coupe features a 5-speed manual transmission.
  • The attached Carfax history report indicates no accidents or mileage discrepancies; it also shows registrations in California since 2000.
  • According to the build sheet provided in the gallery, factory equipment includes 17-inch Style 40 wheels, a limited-slip differential, a power sunroof, Nappa leather upholstery, heated seats, air conditioning, and a Harman/Kardon sound system.
  • Modifications reported by the seller include Bilstein shocks and struts, clear front reflectors, and gray finish on the wheels.
  • Colloquially known as the Clownshoe, the Z3 Coupe joined the Z3 roadster in showrooms for 1999. Like its convertible counterpart, it used several E36-sourced parts, but it stood out with an unusual, shooting brake-like silhouette that blurred the line between a coupe and a hatchback. The M model benefitted from the same 3.2-liter straight-6 as the M3.
  • Power comes from a 3.2-liter straight-6, rated at 240 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque. Output is sent to the rear wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission.

Bidding up to $9,000

As mentioned in the listing, we last saw this coupe for sale back in 2017. It has just over 6k new miles in that time. Since then the wheels have been refinished. It still has the Whalen shift knob and Bilstein/H&R suspension. It also had a lot of maintenance done by the previous owner. There was some minor concern with the rear welds last time it was on the market, so it woudl be worth looking into. It also has some clear coat issues on the roof and has the fairly normal center console crack. Bidding up to $7,500.00 so far.
