I've decided to put up for sale my 1999 BMW E36/8 M Coupe with its original solid and strong S52 manual 5-speed powerplant. It is Cosmos Black Metallic exterior over Dark Oregon Beige leather interior (1 of 52 produced in this color/configuration/year). It's one of the classiest color combinations and best looking with black exterior in my opinion. Also it's reminiscent of the color combo of the Miami Vice Daytona Spyder, one of my favorite cars growing up. Anyway, this M Coupe is accident free, clean Carfax and Autocheck and ALL panels with matching VINs (bumper covers as well). It has never been a track car. I'm a car enthusiast/hobbyist and this M Coupe is a secondary weekend vehicle for me with ~97200 miles. I purchased the M Coupe from a BMW dealer almost completely stock besides rear window tint and an aftermarket radio (head unit only) which I replaced with a like new pricey BMW Business CD player that plugged right in. I believe all the normal wear and tear maintenance items were replaced by previous owners with BMW OEM parts and evidently many of its services were performed at BMW dealers.
The car does have a few M Coupe enthusiast appreciated mods which I added within the last 800 miles or less:
-
Koni adjustable shocks all around
-
Rogue Engineering rear shock mounts (for MUCH easier shock removal/access)
-
street performance Powerflex rear subframe bushings
-
stainless steel brake lines
-
K&N drop in air filter
-
Autocraft Platinum AGM battery
-
driver and passenger delrin seat bushing mod/replacement
-
Ireland Engineering oilite clutch pedal bushings
Recent maintenance items within the last 800 miles or less are:
-
new cast metal impeller water pump
-
metal thermostat housing
-
new thermostat
-
serpentine and A/C belts
-
brake fluid flush w/ synthetic
-
power steering flush w/ synthetiC
-
coolant flush
-
manual transmission fluid replaced w/ Royal P synthetic
-
rear diff oil w/ RP syn
-
engine oil w/ LiquiMoly
It has also been completely buffed and waxed recently and the wheels have been repainted/refurbished. But all the mods and maintenance items were performed for peace of mind, appearance, slight improvement in street performance, and prevention NOT because of any failure. So it remains very much as it did when new and easily converted back. It comes with the Bentley service manual and a fitted car cover. There are the expected rock chips and hardly noticeable small door dings (maybe four in total). There are some lower bumper chin scrapes but still very clean and shiny original paint with no faded plastics. The interior is stain-free and the driver's seat has the common but relatively minimal wear on the outside bolster. The center console has the common crack above the A/C buttons. It is only cosmetic, the buttons are still held firmly in place. I have the replacement part (becoming increasingly rare) and will go with the car. Overall this M Coupe is a super clean, well cared for, relatively low mile, well sorted, great example of these rare appreciating collectible cars. It gets a lot of compliments, the best handling car I've owned. It'll definitely be sad to her see go.
