Selling my 2nd M Coupe after 2 years of ownership. This was a CA car from 1999-2012 when I moved it to Texas. The '99 has the shorter-ratio rear diff that makes it just about as quick as an S54 car (at least in my experience) with none of the maintenance headaches. I've had 1 incident (idler pulley went out - $110, parts & labor) in the 2 years I've owned it. I have never tracked or abused the car, and the previous owner didn't either. That means this car hasn't seen the track in at least 8 years, if it ever did (which I doubt). I am too old to even take the time to bring it up to the canyons and really enjoy it, so the car is wasted on me. The BAD: M Coupe General Issues: the hydraulic supports for the rear tailgate have weakened to the point where they don't hold it up anymore. Cops pay way too much attention to it,. Issues for this car in particular: the lower bit of the front bumper has been scraped, so there's a little bit of black showing on the bottom of the driver's side. There's also a thin scratch on the passenger door that I haven't gotten removed. THE GOOD: Mechanically, this car is impeccable. She has never been modified in any way. There are no flaws and there is ZERO deferred maintenance. In 2012 I drove this car from CA to TX and wouldn't hesitate to make the drive again. This is a ZERO excuses car. It's not due for another oil change for 3000 miles and it has brand new tires on all four corners. The AC is ice, the radio sounds great, and the paint is in beautiful condition with the exception of the 2 issues noted above. I will own another, but it's time to pass this one on. It had 58k when I bought it in 2012, now it has 78k. If I keep DDing it she won't be around as long as she deserves to be, so I'm hoping to find the right home for her.
