Seller Description

This 2000 BMW M Coupe was first registered in California, and it spent over a decade in Oregon before it was acquired by the seller on BaT in June 2023. Now indicating 62k miles, the car is finished in Oxford Green 2 Metallic over Dark Beige Oregon upholstery. Power is provided by a 3.2-liter S52 inline-six paired with a five-speed manual transmission, and equipment includes a limited-slip differential, silver-finished 17″ Style 40 wheels, air conditioning, cruise control, heated sport seats, and a Harman Kardon sound system. Work under current ownership included overhauling the cooling system, changing the tires and front brake components, installing an aftermarket Bluetooth module and a LeatherZ illuminated ZHP-style shift knob, and replacing the accessory belt tensioner and idler pulleys along with the power steering reservoir and hoses. This M Coupe is offered with factory literature, two keys with integrated fobs, service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean North Carolina title in the seller’s name.

This M Coupe is one of 18 North American-market examples finished in Oxford Green 2 Metallic over Dark Beige Oregon upholstery for the for the model year. It was ordered without a sunroof, and exterior details include a rear window wiper, front fender vents, and quad exhaust outlets. The seller notes that ceramic window tint film has been applied to the windows and that a paint correction service was performed under current ownership. Noted flaws include chips in the finish on the front bumper cover and hood as well as scrapes on the rear bumper cover and a dent in the side skirt on the right side of the car.

Silver-finished 17″ Style 40 wheels were mounted with 225/45 front and 245/40 rear Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 tires under current ownership. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with ventilated rotors. Additional work under current ownership included repairing curb marks on two of the wheels as well as replacing the front control arm bushings, brake rotors, and brake pads.

The cabin features Dark Oregon Beige upholstery covering the heated sport seats, door panel inserts, and center console. Amenities include air conditioning, cruise control, an AM/FM cassette stereo, and a Harman Kardon sound system. Work under current ownership included fitting an aftermarket Bluetooth module, a LeatherZ illuminated ZHP-style shift knob, and a replacement dome light fuse and door handle gaskets as well as repairing a heater control lever and replacing the driver-side footrest trim. Photos show wear on the outer bolster of the driver’s seat, the clock is intermittently inoperative, and a hole in the passenger-side armrest is noted.

The M-branded leather-wrapped steering wheel features tri-color stitching and frames a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6,800-rpm redline, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 62k miles, approximately 4k of which were added by the seller.

The 3.2-liter S52B32 inline-six features VANOS variable valve timing and was factory rated at 240 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque. Work under current ownership included replacing the following components:

  • Coolant expansion tank and cap
  • Thermostat
  • Thermostat housing
  • Coolant hoses
  • Accessory belt tensioner and idler pulleys
  • Accessory belt idler pulley
  • Power steering reservoir
  • Power steering hoses

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a ZF five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The clutch fluid was bled and the rear differential fluid was changed under current ownership, and the car was fitted with a Randy Forbes rear subframe reinforcement kit in October 2023.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in California, Oregon, and North Carolina.

It only has a few more miles since we saw it just a year ago. It's a sunroof-delete too. It's had some maintenance done this year including brakes and control arm bushings. Bidding up to $10,000.00 so far.
